Can I only order an STD test if I am a student?
Everyone can order our STD tests, even if you are not a student. The reason we focus on students is because our experience (as a general practitioner) has shown that students form a risk group where there are relatively many STDs. Our goal is to help as many people as possible get rid of their STDs (and keep it like that), so that's why focus on students. But no worries: everyone can use our STD tests!
Where can I see the result?
You can view the results of your STD test in an anonymous way via this website if you have sent the STD test to the lab for free by post. Enter the unique code that you received from the lab in your mail on the Results page. This can be done within 3-5 business days after sending to the lab (keep in mind that most mailboxes are emptied by the postal service at 5 p.m.).
If you bring the test in Groningen to student doctor's practice (Hanzeplein 121) you will receive a result within one working day.
What is a 3-in-1 STD test and why do you offer it?
Research has shown that vaginal chlamydia is often associated with anal chlamydia, even if you have not had anal sex. Anal chlamydia requires a different treatment than vaginal chlamydia. At present, many institutes are only testing in one sex area, so women are often not given the treatment they need to fight 'all' chlamydia. That is why we have developed a unique 3-in-1 test where you have vaginal, anal and oral tests and therefore have more certainty about a reliable result (and you can receive the correct follow-up medication). Extra additional benefit for you: this is also a lot cheaper than ordering multiple individual tests!
How soon will I receive a message?
You will not receive a message, but you can view the result anonymously within 3-5 working days if you have sent the STD test to the lab for free by post. If you spend the test in Groningen at Studentarts (Hanzeplein 121) you will receive a result within one working day.
Do you ensure discreet shipping?
Yes, this is of great importance to us. The shipping material is not transparent and there is no text on it that shows that you ordered an STD test (so also our name is not on it).
Do I have to be registered with Studentarts?
No. StudentArts is a general practice for residents and students in Groningen. From this practice, Soastudentarts was conceived and implemented, which means you are assured of high-quality testing. To use our STD tests you do not have to be registered with this practice: everyone can order our STD tests.
What is the difference in treatment?
In the past everyone received 1000 mg Azithromycin once. That appears to be not enough for women, because a vaginal chlamydia often goes together with an anal chlamydia (even without having had anal sex). The treatment is then Doxycycline for one week. The test does not break down where the chlamydia is found, so it is advisable to always treat women with Doxycycline.
Where can I go with a complaint?
We do our utmost to help you as well as possible, but it is of course possible that you were not satisfied with something. We think it is important that you are heard and helped as quickly and effectively as possible. If you have a complaint, you can send an email (with a complete and clear description of your complaint) to firstname.lastname@example.org. Then you will be contacted within 2 working days.
